About TAGD Regular Business Meetings

TAGD holds regular meetings to discuss advances in groundwater science and technology, provide updates on legal and legislative matters, address membership needs, and provide networking opportunities for people working within the groundwater community. These meetings help further TAGD’s mission and are an excellent opportunity for groundwater conservation district staff and other groundwater professionals to share and learn new information. Regular Business Meeting speakers have included:

  • State Legislators
  • Employees of the Texas Water Development Board, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and other state agencies
  • Consulting engineers and hydrogeologists
  • Practicing attorneys
  • Groundwater Conservation District staff and board members

Spring 2022 Regular Business Meeting

Mark your calendar for the winter and spring 2023 TAGD Regular Business Meetings – January 31-February 1 and June 6-7, both at the Courtyard by Marriott in Pflugerville (NW suburb of Austin).

Hotel Information

This meeting will take place in the DFW metroplex at a new venue – the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington. Learn more about the hotel on their website here. The room block is now closed and rooms may be reserved through the hotel at the prevailing rate. If you have a room and need to cancel, please let Julia know so we may look into transferring it to someone who needs it.

PFIA Training (add-on)

We will also offer Greg Ellis’ Public Funds Investment Act Training in conjunction with this business meeting. You can add your PFIA course to your business meeting registration, or select registration option AA for anyone not attending the business meeting. The 4-hour course is $125 and the 6-hour course is $175. Both courses include a working box lunch (options here). Virtual participation is also available, just select “virtual attendance” when you sign up instead of selecting a lunch. Webinar instructions will be emailed to virtual registrants the week before. GCD Boot Camp (add-on)

The third and final module of GCD Boot Camp will take place from 8-10am before the business meeting on May 17 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel in Arlington. Registration is $40 per participant and may be easily added to business meeting registration here. Click here to learn more about the GCD Boot Camp series. Please note that the Boot Camp modules are not cumulative – anyone may attend any of the sessions, regardless of whether they have attended the first or second module.
