Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee is responsible for informing the membership of relevant pending legislation. If possible, the committee will develop a position and act on such legislation with approval from the Executive Committee. This committee is also responsible for initiating legislative proposals, policies and resolutions for presentation to TAGD. Click here to view the list of TAGD Legislative Committee members. Interim Information

In May 2024, House Speaker Dade Phelan released interim charges to the committees of the Texas House of Representatives. You can view the charges here. The House Natural Resources Committee’s interim report is not yet available but will be posted here once it is released.

On April 11, 2024, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick issued interim charges to the committees of the Texas Senate. You can view the Senate charges here. The Senate Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs Committee’s interim report is now available and can be found here.

30 TAC 230 Suggested Revisions

In December 2023, TAGD’s Legislative Committee approved and the Executive Committee confirmed submitting suggested revisions to TCEQ for the rules regarding groundwater availability certifications contained in 30 Texas Administrative Code 230.  These suggestions are aimed at implementing SB 2440 and generally improving the groundwater availability certification process.
