GCD Open Meetings Guide

As part of our mission to support Texas groundwater conservation districts by offering educational and technical assistance, the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts has developed an Open Meetings & Notice Quick Reference Guide for GCDs. This convenient two-page document provides important definitions, checklists for notice requirements for different types of GCD meetings, and a few tips to help your district stay in compliance with open meetings laws and maintain government transparency. Please keep in mind that the information in this guide is provided as a courtesy and should not be construed as legal advice. Always consult your legal counsel in any matters regarding open meetings laws.

If you’d like to print this guide, we recommend printing it two-sided! You may wish to distribute copies to board or staff members, or laminate it and keep it at your desk for easy reference when planning district meetings.
